Amgen Tour Biking Events
Welcome to all Amgen Tour of California racers, family members and fans! We at Tahoe Adventure Company are very excited to have such an amazing race pass through our area. In celebration, we will be offering several special mountain bike tours that will be sure to impress veteran Tahoe mountain bikers as well as first time visitors.
Routes suitable for beginners and advanced riders alike will be available. As always, all gear, instruction, an excellent lunch, and natural history is included. Dates and exact rides are in the works so check back soon.
AMGEN 2011 kicks-off the tour in South Lake Tahoe Sunday, May 15, wrapping up Stage 1 at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort in North Lake Tahoe. The following day, Monday, May 16 Stage 2 Start will take place nearby at Squaw Valley USA.
Six years running, Amgen Tour of California has drawn some of the world's most recognizable and respected riders, such as top Tour de France competitors, world champions and Olympic medalists including Lance Armstrong, Tom Boonen, Oscar Freire, Paolo Bettini, Fabian Cancellara, Carlos Sastre, Ivan Basso, George Hincapie, Mark Cavendish and Andy Schleck.

Sunday, May 15, 2011 Beach Party at Tahoe Vista Recreation Area (TVRA) ~ 11am-4pm Join us for Half Price Kayak and Paddleboard (SUP) Rentals, music, food, a Sand Castle Contest put on by Big Brothers and Big Sisters (supplies donated by Village Toys), other games and competitions! Watch the Amgen Tour of California racers pass the TVRA twice while enjoying a day at the beach!
